Northern Illinois University on Tuesday held a vigil for the late Steve Agee II to celebrate his life and time as a NIU student leader.
Agee, 22, was murdered Nov. 23 at an off-campus party. He was shot three times in the chest around 2 a.m. at an apartment on the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive in Dekalb. He was pronounced dead at Kishwaukee Hospital.
The vigil honored Agee, who was a senior sociology major and student leader on campus, starting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the the Duke Ellington Ballroom in the Holmes Student Center at NIU.
Agee's friends, relatives and representatives from the National Fraternity of Kappa Alpha Psi were in attendance.
