Adorable Video Shows Elementary Students' Unique Take on ‘Go Cubs Go'

Chicago Cubs fans have gotten used to hearing “Go Cubs Go” a lot this season at Wrigley Field, but we’d be willing to bet that fans of the team haven’t heard the song quite the way a local group of elementary school kids play it.

That group of students is from Oak Park’s William Hatch Elementary School, and their Steel Drum Band put together a very impressive cover of the tune to celebrate the Cubs’ success so far in the MLB postseason.

“Go Cubs Go” was originally released in 1984 by recording artist Steve Goodman, and it came out during a season in which the Cubs reached the postseason for the first time in nearly 40 years. The song has become synonymous with the team and with victories at Wrigley Field, as it plays after every victory at the Friendly Confines.
