Video: Blackhawks Pay Tribute to Sharp, Oduya Thursday Night

On Thursday night, two key contributors to the Chicago Blackhawks’ recent run of success returned to the United Center, as Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya visited the arena as members of the Dallas Stars.

To mark the occasion, the Blackhawks put together tribute videos to both players and aired them during the contest, drawing applause and cheers from the sold out crowd.

For Sharp, the Hawks put together a two-minute video celebrated his time with the team, in which he won three Stanley Cups and was part of the talent nucleus that took the Blackhawks from a rundown franchise into the envy of the NHL:

For Oduya, the Hawks put together a shorter video, but it was one that highlighted just how critical he was to the team’s defensive success during his tenure as he helped the club win two championships in three seasons:

Both players were touched by the tributes the Blackhawks put together for them.

“First class by a first class organization,” Sharp said. “I’ve said many times I’ve enjoyed my 10 years here in Chicago. Very proud of what we accomplished on and off the ice, got a lot of good friends there on the other side. It was definitely emotional to watch that.”
