Victoria's Secret Hit By Underwear Thieves — Again

Police are now investigating eight thefts of bras and other undergarments from the northwest suburban South Barrington Victoria’s Secret store.

The most recent was reported to police Feb. 11, when thieves lifted $2,350 in bras and underwear.

According to police, a store employee reported that two females in their 20s took 40 bras and 20 pairs of underwear before leaving in a red Dodge Charger.

The store, 100 W. Higgins Road in South Barrington, has experienced a string of similar thefts dating back to Sept. 25. Total losses are now more than $10,000.

Previous thefts include:

Feb. 1: The store reported that a man and a woman stole 100 pairs of underwear valued at $1,250. A store employee told investigators the couple was seen driving away in an off-white Chrysler minivan, police said.

Jan. 29: A dozen bras priced at $55 each were taken from the store. A man and two women were believed to be involved.

Dec. 6: Nearly 20 bras valued at $1,000 were taken off a display table.

Nov. 26 and Nov. 9: Thieves made off with a total of 72 bras valued at about $3,690.

Oct. 4: A police report states that three people entered the store and removed more than $500 worth of merchandise.

Sept. 25: More than $2,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. Store employees said three women were involved in that incident, according to police reports.
