He dies one week after the attack in his Sauganash home

A man who was bound and beaten during a robbery in his Sauganash home has died.

Shai Miller, 57, a jewelry supply store owner in the Loop, was severely beaten late in October earlier by two armed thieves who forced their way into his home. Both Miller and his 14-year-old son were bound by duck tape, but the son was left unharmed.

The attack left Miller in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston until his death Tuesday afternoon.

Police News Affairs say that the investigation is still underway but there is nothing new to report at this time.  According to BreakingnewsChicago, Miller's autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
