Two men were seriously hurt when they were hit by a car outside the Lollapalooza music festival in Grant Park Saturday night.

The accident happened on the 500 block of South Lake Shore Drive about 8:38 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.

The two men, both believed to be in their early 20s, tried running across a busy Lake Shore Drive near Buckingham Fountain when they were hit , Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said.

The car stayed on the scene following the crash, O’Brien said.

The two men were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious to critical condition, Curtis said.

It's not clear if the men were coming from the music festival.  Friday night, a 25-year-old woman was run over by a truck while bicycling home from Lollapalooza.  She died at the scene.
