2 Men Charged in Shooting of 10-Year-Old Boy

Two men were charged Wednesday in the shooting a 10-year-old boy on Halloween night.

Cruz Perez, 22, and Steven Figueroa, 18, have been charged with felony aggravated battery with a firearm after a boy was shot in the leg Monday night, Chicago police said.

The boy was walking with his friends in Ravenswood through Ronan Park near the North Branch of the Chicago River, where police say he was shot about 10 p.m.

Paramedics took the boy to Children's Memorial Hospital and as of Tuesday morning, police said the boy was in good condition.

Perez and Figueroa were identified in a lineup and charged Wednesday morning, police said. Both men are scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court later Wednesday.
