Trump Tower will look as if it exploded Wednesday night, as director Michael Bay moves his special effects juggernaut “Transformers 3” to the site of the luxury hotel and condo.

Spectators will see smoke and flames smoldering near the tower at 401 N. Wabash Ave. according to a release for the film crew.

Bay and crew will be filming at various downtown locations this week, but the shoot should have minimal impact to traffic.

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, rooftops along the Chicago River between Wabash and Columbus avenues will appear to burst into flames.

Boats in the Chicago River will also appear to catch fire, as will cars on the Columbus Street Bridge and Wacker Drive.

A helicopter will hover over the Chicago River while the filming takes place.
