Follow the Stimulus $$ Online

Gov. launches stimulus website

The governor is taking the Illinois recovery plan online. Gov. Pat Quinn has launched Recovery.Illinois.gov, a website created to help track how the state is using its share of the $787 billion federal stimulus package.

The site will also give state residents the chance to submit projects that would be eligible for federal stimulus funds.

Quinn says the site will keep track of projects, spending and job creation.

There will also be a list of state-run programs that are receiving extra funding, including unemployment benefits and food stamps.

“We are moving as quickly as possible to get projects going so that we can get the people of Illinois back to work,” said Gov. Quinn. “This website will help them learn about important programs and track our progress.”
