Top of CTA Rider's Ear Bitten Off by Another Passenger: Police

Police are investigating an incident that led to a violent altercation between two passengers on a CTA train Friday evening.

The altercation occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on the Orange Line in the 4900 block of South Western near the Western stop, according to police.

A male, whose age was not disclosed, had the top of his ear bitten off by an unknown offender, according to police.

The victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, according to police. His condition was not released.

The incident caused an approximate 10 minute delay on the Orange Line, according to the CTA.

Investigators did not have anyone in custody as of 8:15 p.m. Friday.
