Thieves Steal 450 Tote Bags from Naperville Walgreens Stores: Police

Totes have since been stolen from Walgreens stores in other towns, police say

Naperville Police are looking for the thieves who swiped 450 tote bags from three area Walgreens stores this month.

The white and gray plastic totes valued at $8 each were stolen during the overnight hours between May 1 and 2 from the back of each Walgreens, police said.

Since then totes have been stolen from Walgreens stores in other towns. All of the totes display the Walgreens logo and are approximately 2 feet cubed, police said in a statement.

Police believe the totes could be sold for resale on the secondary market such as at flea markets.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact Det. John Reed at 630-305-5920 or Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006.
