Stephen Colbert is tracking his truthiness back to Evanston.

The host of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" will speak at Northwestern University’s 153rd commencement and receive an honorary degree, according to a release from the school.

Colbert is a Northwestern alum. He's said to have fell in love with improv while studying there, teaming up with classmate David Schwimmer to start an improv team. Two years out of college, Colbert joined the Second City touring company and  then moved to Comedy Central with Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello.

The 2011 commencement will take place at 10:30 a.m. June 17 at Ryan Field.
