Melody LaLuz and Claudaniel Fabien made the most of their first kiss. It lasted nearly two minutes. And it was in front of nearly 500 friends and family - on their wedding day.

"It feels like such a gift," LaLuz told the Chicago Sun-Times. "When you value a kiss, it bemes something of worth."

Saturday, 28-year-old LaLuz married fellow virgin, 30-year-old Fabien at Maranatha World Revival Ministries on the Northwest Side. The couple preach what they practice, working as abstinence educators in the Chicago Public Schools.

"Sex is worth the wait! We believe this and we live out what we teach---it's true that abstinence does work," said LaLuz and Fabien.

LaLuz decided at 16 that she was going to wait for sex until her wedding day. The couple says in a time where casual sex is the norm, their message has inspired thousands of young people to wait too.

The couple is off to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. We assume they won't kiss and tell about the rest of their trip.

Think about it...how easy is it to divorce someone when you've started the relationship with selflessness!!! Um...VERY difficult! Abstaining from pre-marital sex says, "I love and honor you more than my urges!" That's the only type of relationship that can stand firm in this rampid divorce (aka selfishness) era! ... MORE >
  • MMM Monday, Dec 1 at 11:45 AM FLAG COMMENT This is a very nice, romantic story.....but really?? Come on now...lets all be honest here.....There is no way that man is a vigin. And I have to agree w/ most people on this board....i think you need to make sure you are compatiable in everyway before you get married....even w/ sex. I wish them well!
  • Jeannie Sunday, Nov 30 at 5:44 PM FLAG COMMENT I can think of no greater gift a woman/man could give each other. There is only one first time and you two are truly set aside as a blessing and a wonderful example to the world ( if only more people would llisten),,,,,,,,,,,,if I were a betting person I would wager that the thought of divorce will not even come up in your marriage and that your children will also be blessings and benifit from their parents legacy.
  • True to my word Sunday, Nov 30 at 1:21 PM FLAG COMMENT What a wonderful couple - I wish them much happiness in their marriage. When my husband and I were dating we waited to kiss for 2 months, waited until our wedding night to make love and it has been the most romantic and satisfying time of my life going on 3 years. My husband had never kissed (or anything else) before dating me and I wish I could say the same thing about my life. Marriage is not about sex - it's just the cherry ... MORE >
