Teen Brothers Charged in Killing of 62-Year-Old Neighbor in Joliet Township

Deputies found Robert J. Bielec at 10:52 p.m. unresponsive in the driveway of his home in the 1700 block of Houston Avenue in unincorporated Joliet Township

Two teenager brothers have been charged with beating their 62-year-old neighbor to death Thursday night in southwest suburban Joliet Township.

Blaique P. Morgan, 19; and his 17-year-old brother were both charged with three counts of murder, according to the Will County sheriff’s office.

Deputies found Robert J. Bielec at 10:52 p.m. unresponsive in the driveway of his home in the 1700 block of Houston Avenue in unincorporated Joliet Township, according to the Will County coroner’s office and the sheriff’s office. Morgan lives next door to Bielec on the same block.

Someone who lives in the home told deputies they heard the victim talking to someone outside, then heard a loud noise, the sheriff’s office said. That person went outside and found the victim lying on the ground unresponsive.

Bielec died from blunt force head trauma in an apparent homicide, the coroner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morgan and the 17-year-old killed Bielec over a longstanding neighbor dispute, according to the sheriff’s office.

Morgan was ordered held on a $1.5 million bond in court Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. The 17-year-old, whose name was not released, was scheduled to appear in juvenile court Monday at the River Valley Justice Center.
