Teen Girl “Touched Inappropriately” on CTA Train

A 16-year-old girl says she was "touched inappropriately" Thursday while riding a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train during rush hour.

The girl told NBC Chicago she was on her way home from school when a man pressed himself against her back inappropriately.

Witnesses chased the man as he attempted to the flee the scene at the Logan Square station.

"I saw a guy molesting the little girl," said witness Sergio Ruano. "He got scared. I chased him."

Police said the sexual assault was reported around 6:45 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, but could not offer further information surrounding the incident or the suspect.

Witnesses at the scene said a couple of men tried to hold the suspect inside the station after he ran off the train, but weren't able to hold him until police arrived.

"It's crazy, people doing that stuff," Ruano said.

No one was in custody as of Thursday evening, but police say they are searching for the suspect.
