Teacher's Aide Accused of Sexually Assaulting Student

A Chicago man who works as an aide at a north suburban school for special needs students is accused of sexually assaulting one of those students last year.

Donald Arocho, 37, is charged with one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

According to prosecutors, on or about Aug. 26, 2013, Arocho was escorting the student -- who is intellectually disabled and deaf -- to the bathroom. He's accused of taking the student to the gymnasium, pulling down the student's pants and underwear and sexually assaulted the student.

Investigators say the victim told family members what happened, and was taken to a hospital where a rape kit was performed.

Arocho appeared in bond court Friday and was held on a $300,000 bond.
