A Wicker Park restaurant was nearly destroyed and a customer suffered minor injuries after a taxi cab slammed into the front of the building.

Police report the vehicle plowed into the The Prasino restaurant -- the 1800 block of West Division Street --around 10 a.m. .

The restaurant was not crowded, however at least one person was reported to be hurt. The Chicago Fire Department said the customer was taken in good or fair condition to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.

The restaurant is closed for the day. The company just opened for business in Wicker Park in August. City building inspectors arrived to evaluate the safety of the building.

The taxi cab driver involved in the crash called a cab to pick him up.
