Taste of Chicago Closures and Reroutes Begin Wednesday

Taste of Chicago reroutes and closures begin Wednesday and remain effective until July 11.

A list of street closures and Chicago Transit Authority reroutes begin Wednesday ahead of the 36th annual Taste of Chicago.

The five-day food festival kicks off in Grant Park and will be held between Lake Shore Drive, Monroe Street, Michigan Avenue and Balbo Drive.

All road closures will be in effect through Monday, July 11, and include:

Columbus Drive

  • Monroe St. to Balbo Ave. 
  • Balbo Ave. to Roosevelt Rd.

Congress Parkway

  • Michigan Ave. to Columbus Dr. 
Jackson
  • Michigan Ave. to Lake Shore Drive

The following CTA buses will also be temporarily rerouted:

  • No. 2 Hyde Park Express
  • No. 6 Jackson Park Express
  • No. 10 Museum of Science & Industry
  • No. J14 Jeffery Jump
  • No. 26 South Shore Express
  • No. 28 Stony Island

Parking is available at three locations including: Millennium Park Garage and Millennium Lakeside Garage, 5 S. Columbus Drive; Grant Park North Garage, 25 N. Michigan Ave.; and Grant Park South Garage, 325 S. Michigan Ave. 

The perimeter of Grant and Millennium Parks will be open for bike parking.

Taste of Chicago will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
