A "suspicious package" found Monday near the Dirksen Federal Building downtown was empty and not threatening, Chicago Police said.
Police received a call around 8:50 a.m. Wednesday about the package, found near a pole on the Dearborn side of the building, according to Chicago News Affairs.
Local homeland security and bomb units were investigating and found nothing inside.
Employees seen standing outside of the building at 219 S. Dearborn moved back inside. No injuries were reported.
