Suspects in Uptown Standoff Charged in Indiana

The Chicago standoff occurred Monday

Indiana prosecutors say three South Bend men involved in a six-hour standoff in Chicago face charges in connection with a slaying.

St. Joseph County prosecutor spokeswoman Lora Bentley says 28-year-old Bryant Hunt is charged with murder in connection with the Nov. 18 death in South Bend of 31-year-old Dietrich Perkins. Hunt also is charged with attempted robbery.

Bentley says 20-year-old Sylvester Gamer is charged with aiding in murder and 18-year-old Forest Lamar Jr. is charged with assisting a criminal. Hunt and Gamer are being held without bond and Lamar was being held on $500,000 bond.

Bentley says the three are being held in Chicago, but didn't know where. It wasn't known if they had attorneys.

She says Hunt and Lamar have waived extradition.
