Suspects Charged in Craigslist Scam

2 Men are charged with attempting to steal and then re-sell items from Craigslist

The suspects in a Craigslist scam have been identified.

Jonathan D. Miller, 18, and Myshawn L. Bonds, 19, both of Carpentersville are accused of setting up appointments with sellers of expensive items on Craigslist, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Instead of buying the items, they grabbed them and uploaded them to the site - looking to re-sell the items.

Miller was charged with a Class 2 felony count of theft after being accused of stealing an $8,000 watch. Bonds was charged with a Class 3 felony theft after also being accused of robbing a man of his MacBook Pro laptop.

Both men put the items back on Craigslist, police said.

Miller's bail is $30,000 and Bonds' bail is $15,000, according to the Sun-Times. They both have Jan. 9 court dates.
