Suspect Questioned in Naperville Puppy Theft

Naperville police are questioning a suspect Friday in connection with a puppy theft caught on surveillance camera one week ago.

An arrest has not been made in the case.

A woman walked into Petland Naperville Nov. 8, and was handed a white 2-month-old Havanese puppy she claimed to be interested in.

When the employee walked away, the woman put the dog under her jacket and walked out of the store.

About 30 minutes before the Naperville incident, the same thing happened at a Petland store in Bolingbrook where a woman was also caught on surveillance video stealing a male 14-week-old white Maltese puppy.

Store officials said a man returned the stolen pups to a store in Missouri two days later, dropping them off at the counter and fleeing.
