Suburban School District to Refund Students More Than $320K

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 must refund almost $322,000 to students who took driver's education during the 2010-11 school year

A suburban Chicago school district owes its students hundreds of thousands of dollars after improperly charging them for driver’s education.

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 must refund almost $322,000 to students who took driver's education during the 2010-11 school year, the Daily Southtown reports

The school district failed to renew a state waiver that would allow it to charge students more than $125 for the classes, while still collecting its much higher $350 mandated fee.

Parents can apply for refunds on the district's website through Sept. 1. For more information, visit lw210.org.
