Suburban Grandfather Wins $200K Playing Lottery

Salvatore Longo purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Lake in the Hills

A northwest suburban man recently won $200,000 after purchasing a Lucky Day Lotto ticket at a convenience store.

Salvatore Longo purchased his ticket for the March 21 drawing at 7-Eleven, located at 4500 West Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills, and matched all five numbers: 21 – 24 – 33 – 36 – 43, according to a statement from the Illinois Lottery.

Longo, a father of three who has 13 grandchildren, says he plans to use his winnings on bills and a new car.

The retailer will receive $2,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
