Suburban Man Killed After Towing Mishap on NW Side

He had become pinned between a vehicle he was towing and his tow truck, police said

An Oak Forest man died Monday after he became pinned between two vehicles in a towing mishap on the Northwest Side.

Edward Miller, 42, was found unresponsive about 9:30 a.m. in a commercial parking lot in the 3900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had become pinned between a vehicle he was towing and his tow truck, police said.

Miller, of the 14100 block of South Central Avenue in Oak Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of multiple injuries from the tow truck mishap and ruled his death an accident.
