Suburban Man Charged After Using Cellphone to Film Woman on Bus

The woman didn’t know what was happening until the two other passengers told the man to stop, police said

Police say a 49-year-old man was caught using his cellphone to take video up a woman’s skirt on a Pace bus Thursday evening in west suburban Riverside.

About 5:45 p.m., two passengers sitting behind Gustavo Vega spotted him shooting video of the woman sitting in front of him as they were traveling south in the 3200 block of Harlem Avenue, according to Riverside police.

The woman didn’t know what was happening until the two other passengers told Vega to stop, police said. They called for help when the Summit resident kept recording, police said.

When officers caught up at the intersection of Harlem and Ogden, they got on the bus and Vega put his phone in his pocket, police said.

He eventually handed it over to officers, who found inappropriate footage taken from under the woman’s skirt, police said.

Vega was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful video recording. His court information was not immediately available.
