Enraged veterans at a VFW Post in upstate New York duct-taped a young man to a flagpole after he was spotted setting the Post's American flag on fire.

Suburban police busted a Morris woman who had been stealing police department and American flags parks around Morris and burning them.

The woman, Zhenia A. Buttry, 19, allegedly stole flags from a police memorial in Chapin Park in May. Officials replaced the flags a few days later, but those went missing, too.

Then cops asked for the public's help in finding the vandal. Numerous tips flooded in and officers were able to track down Buttry, who admitted to stealing and burning the American flags.

Buttry admitted to stealing and burning the flags, but gave no reason. Cops say she may have been involved with the disappearance of another American flag from another park and the disappearance of some street signs.

Police said state's attorneys are mulling felony charges against the woman.
