Study Finds Most Parents Don't Feel Guilty for ‘Tablet Babysitting'

Researchers found 59 percent of moms and dads are guilt-free from using electronics to occupy children

Smartphones and tablets can be useful if parents want to keep their children busy, and a new study found most parents don’t feel guilty about it.

Harris Poll and educational game developer Glaxyz surveyed more than 1,000 parents. Researchers found 59 percent of moms and dads are guilt-free from using electronics to occupy children. However, 58 percent are still concerned about the amount of time kids spend on tablets and smartphones.

Two in five parents allow their children two to three hours of screen time per day, according to the Harris Poll.

When it comes down who’s stricter on screen time, moms appear to get the title. The study found 45 percent of moms allow their kids one hour or less of screen time per day while 27 percent of dads limit electronic play to that amount of time.
