Chicago Student Missing After Taking Morning Jog

Jessica Suarez, 21, left her home on the 6000 block of North Talman to go for a jog at the beach around 6 a.m. on Feb. 25 and hasn’t been seen since.

Police are searching for a college student who went missing after a morning jog two weeks ago in the city's West Rogers Park neighborhood.

Jessica Suarez was studying physical therapy at Harold Washington College. She is also a 2013 graduate of Lane Tech High School. The 21-year-old left her home on the 6000 block of North Talman to go for a jog at the beach around 6 a.m. on Feb. 25 and hasn’t been seen since.

Suarez’s family believes someone knows something about her disappearance and prays that person will help them find her.

“Just give us back our sister, just give me back Jessica,” sister Adelina Suarez said. “All of us, my sisters my mom my dad we wish we could trade places with her because she's young, she's full of dreams.”

“It hurts, the not knowing, that's the worst part just sitting here feeling helpless,” sister Maricela Suarez said.

Police found Jessica's light blue 2000 Honda Civic at Foster Beach with her purse still inside. Her family says detectives showed them video from this surveillance camera at Montrose Harbor. Jessica is recorded jogging by before she disappears from view.

“Sometimes I do think the worst, I think they're going to call me and say they found a body,” Adelina Suarez said. “I love her more than anything in the world.”

No leads have been found in the investigation but police are still hopeful Jessica will be found.
