Stolen Playboy Returned to Bar

"He looked nervous," bar owner Scott Weiner said about the man who returned it

The voluptuous bosoms of ‘70s Playmate Phyllis Babila are back where they belong, at the Fifty/50 club in Ukranian Village.

Last night, an unidentified man walked into the bar and handed over the vintage Playboy magazine that went missing from the bar bathroom over the Labor Day weekend. The man said his “friend” punched out the Plexiglas display case and stole the magazine.

"He looked nervous," bar owner Scott Weiner, 28, told the Tribune. "There was a sense of embarrassment on his face." But no word about hairy palms.

As was the deal, Weiner did not ask any questions of the man and he handed over a $100 gift certificate to the bar and a copy of the May 2009 Playboy signed by the centerfold, Crystal McCahill.

McCahill is a Chicagoan and a regular at the bar, Weiner said.  Interestingly, her mother Gale Olson, was also a Playmate. She posed in 1968.

Weiner created the reward for the magazine because it was a valued family treasure, part of a collection of smut bequeathed to him by his uncle.
