Robert Spearing, a 44 year old man from Ontario, Canada, has been charged with one count of disorderly conduct for falsifying a police report in order to gain Oprah tickets.

Spearing claimed to have been approached by two offenders, one of whom assaulted him, while the other stole his Oprah Winfrey Show tickets, Chicago Police News Affairs confirmed today.

After being transported to Stroger Hospital for minor injuries, Spearing allegedly admitted that he had made up the story, so as to not disappoint his wife about traveling all the way from Canada and not having tickets.

Spearing also allegedly admitted to creating his own injuries by scraping his hands on the sidewalk, and using a rock to make a cut on his forehead.
