Sex Charge Warrant Expected Against Riley Choate

Kentucky police said Riley Choate has been charged with a sex crime involving a minor

Another warrant is on the way against the Indiana father accused of abusing and murdering 13-year-old Christian Choate.

Kentucky police said Monday Riley Choate, 39, has been charged with a sex crime involving a minor, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.

Riley Choate initially was taken into custody in Kentucky for questioning on charges of theft of services. Charges were filed in Indiana shortly after in the death of his son.

Prosecutors revealed the sex crime charge last week before a bail hearing for Riley Choate and his former wife, Kimberly Kubina, 46, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.

Lake Criminal Court Magistrate Kathleen Sullivan dismissed the couple's bail petitions after Kentucky courts placed a hold on their custody.

The 13-year-old's body was uncovered in May by Indiana police
behind the boy's deceased grandmother's mobile home in Gary, Ind.

Riley Choate and Kimberly Kubina were both charged with murder, battery, neglect of a dependent and criminal confinement for keeping Christian in a dog cage secured with seven locks.

Christian's sister, Christina, 17, testified last week that her father forced her to beat her brother.
