Five people suffered injuries in a crash in Little Village Thursday morning.

A 21-year-old man was charged Thursday with driving under the influence hours after a crash in the Little Village neighborhood sent five people to area hospitals.

Roberto Curiel was cited with a DUI, disobeying a traffic signal, failure to reduce speed, being involved in a collision and failure to produce a drivers license, authorities said.

Curiel was driving a truck when it slammed into an SUV in the 3900 block of West Ogden Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Both vehicles rolled over on their sides. Five people total from the vehicles needed medical treatment.

Curiel was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and a 55-year-old man inside the SUV was taken to Stroger Hospital. Both were in serious condition, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A 32-year-old woman and 23-year-old woman were hospitalized with minor injuries. A 47-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in good condition, police said.
