Scottie Pippen Gets Handwritten Card From President Obama

Scottie Pippen is no stranger to elaborate bashes, celebrity buddies or luxurious gifts, but something the Chicago Bulls legend received for his recent birthday may be hard to top.

That’s because Pippen opened the mail to a handwritten card from President Obama himself for his big 5-0 that he celebrated on Sept. 25.

On Wednesday he shared the message for his Twitter followers, writing, “It's not every day you get a handwritten note from the @POTUS. Thank you @barackobama for the birthday wishes!”

The six-time NBA champion, seven-time All-Star and Hall of Famer is regarded as one of the most versatile players to ever play the game and one of the best perimeter defenders in the history of the league. In 17 seasons in the NBA, Pippen holds career averages of 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
