Chicago school children have the day off Monday in honor of Abraham Lincoln.

The state holiday means all Chicago public schools and libraries are closed.

City and state offices also are closed for the day, as well as Cook County offices and courts. The only court to remain open for the holiday is Central Bond Court.

The post office will remain open.

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the U.S.  He was born February 12, 1809.
