A school bus carrying children flipped on its side Wednesday afternoon in far north suburban Lake Villa, school officials said.
Lake Villa School District 41 said the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Grand Avenue in front of the Lake Villa Library.
The bus driver had just completed the route when the bus apparently experienced a mechanical issue involving the rear axle, causing it to turn over on its side.
Three children were on board at the time of the accident, officials said.
No serious injuries were reported, according to the district.
