Police say two women victimized in three days

The Schaumburg Police Department issued a Community Alert Tuesday warning of a man snatching gold chains from the necks of unsuspecting females.

Police say two of the incidents have happened since Saturday within a few blocks of the intersection of Knollwood Drive and Pennview Lane on the far northwest side of the village.

Shortly before noon on Saturday, police say a 28-year-old woman was walking on the 1900 block of Windsong Drive when a man passed her, turned around, pushed her to the ground and grabbed two gold necklaces from around her neck before running away.

The suspect was described as black, around 18 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches tall with a husky build and short black hair. He was wearing a white sleeveless shirt, white shorts and had a large tattoo on his right arm/shoulder.

On Monday at 8:50 am, police say a 54-year-old woman was walking on the 2300 block of Good Speed Lane when a man approached her and grabbed a gold chain from her neck.

The man was described as black, 20-25 years old, around 5-feet, 6-inches tall with a medium build and partially shaved hair.
