Celebrate the end of the Chicago Marathon with a post-race massage in Grant Park.

The Cortiva Institute will offer 10-minute post-event table massages to the runners of the Chicago Marathon October 9, they announced in an issued press release.

Table massages will be performed by Cortiva massage therapists at the race's finish line, located in a large tent in Grant Park, near the Petrillo Bandshell.

Therapists will perform cramp relief, stretching, body mobilization and other techniques.

More than 200 massage therapy students, staff and alumni volunteers from Cortiva will come up from the State Street and suburban locations to perform the massages. Students are offered the chance to learn along side their teachers and graduates, said the release.

The massage school has been offering their services to Chicago Marathon participants for many years and it has become a good opportunity for old and new students to connect.

"For 27 years, our students and staff have provided massage therapy in Chicago at the Marathon, which has become a homecoming of sorts for our organization," said Susan Barney, career services and continuing education director of Cortiva Institute- Chicago, in the press release.

Last year the Cortiva Massage Team gave more than 1,000 massages to the athletes.
