Rooftop Pastor Lays Out Plans to Hit The Road

"From the Rooftop to the Road" - - new way for Pastor to build a community center

Pastor Corey Brooks, who spent 94 days atop a motel roof as part of a plan to build a community center is taking his cause on the road.

On Sunday, Brooks talked about his plan to walk across America, from New York to Los Angeles, hoping to raise 15 million dollars in 94 days.

"It's going to be very tough to do it in 94 days but we've committed ourselves to it, it's about 30 miles everyday," said Brooks.

Brooks was able to raise $450,000 during his time on the roof, receiving a $100,000 donation from actor-director Tyler Perry.    But Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny) is still $15 million short of their goal to build the center across the church.

The intended community center will feature mixed income housing, commercial spaces and the New Beginnings Church’s “Master Academy.”

Pastor Brooks said he's going to start training for his "From the Rooftop to the Road" walk  in May, he hits the road in June.
