Celebrity pop superstar Rihanna will visit Barrington High School on March 22, District 220, announced Friday.
The appearance, though scheduled on a day the school was expected to be closed for spring break, coincides with the singer’s concert at the United Center and comes after the high school’s TV production class won “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” video contest.
Details on the visit weren’t immediately available, but the district reported tickets will only be available for Barrington 220 students.
The student’s video highlighted student works with Gigi’s Playhouse, Relay for Life, Walk On Farm, Best Buddies and more.
It highlighted the more than 45,000 of community services BHS students served last year alone.
The contest, judged by Rihanna and her representatives, created the contest to honor and recognize schools and students who are giving back to their community and reward overall school spirit and creativity.
