The baby that was saved by an emergency cesarean section Wednesday after her mother died in a car accident has died.

Kim Brown, 27, who was six or seven months pregnant died after a driver blew a red light at North Kostner Avenue and West Washington Boulevard, slammed into a van that in turn plowed over four pedestrians.

Brown, of 2958 W. Cortez St., was pronounced dead at 12:13 p.m. at Stroger hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Doctors were able to remove her child, but the premature infant had suffered injuries in the crash and couldn’t survive.
