Report: Blackhawks to Play Outdoor Game vs. Wild Next Season

For the third season in a row, it looks like the Blackhawks will play an outdoor game

For Chicago Blackhawks fans who have not gotten an opportunity to attend one of the team's outdoor games recently, it appears as though you'll get another chance as reports are coming out that the team will be heading into the elements once again in the 2015-16 season.

That report, which originated from NBCSN's Bob McKenzie, says that the Hawks will be playing an outdoor game next season against the Minnesota Willd as part of the league's Stadium Series.

If it comes to fruition, it will be the third season in a row that the Blackhawks will play in an outdoor game, as they participated in the Stadium Series in March 2014 and the Winter Classic earlier this month in Washington, D.C. It will be their fourth outdoor game overall, as they competed in the second-ever Winter Classic against the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field.

The league will also add another outdoor game to the mix next season, with the Detroit Red Wings set to take on the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. Reports are already out that the NHL has decided on a matchup between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens for the Winter Classic in a game to be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.
