The Chicago man who tossed a puppy from the window of his car onto a busy Elmhurst street got off doggone easy.

Tuesday, Sergiu E. Muresan, 26 of the 2400 block of Greenshaw Avenue, was ordered to pay a $100 fine and barred from owning or possession animals for the next year.  He also received one year of court supervision, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Muresan was convicted tossing the dog earlier this year.

Bentley the dog had escaped from the yard of his owner Guillermo Roman, of Chicago, in December.

After he was tossed from Muresan's car a local shelter took him in and reunited the pup with its owner.
