Oh my gourd! A giant pumpkin grown in Illinois set a new record as the largest pumpkin in North America.

The pumpkin, which was brought to the Cedarburg Wine & Harvest Festival in Wisconsin, weighed 2,145.5 pounds.

According to the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, that set a new North American record and the pumpkin is currently listed as the 2015 leader for largest pumpkin in the country.

The executive director of Festivals of Cedarburg Inc., BJ Homayouni, said the pumpkin was also listed as the second-largest in the world.

“It was like the best to have it at the festival,” Homayouni said. “It was really exciting.”

Gene McMullen grew the record-squashing pumpkin in Streator, Illinois. Homayouni said it was McMullen’s third year participating in the festival.
