Police said they are investigating a possible stabbing at a Dollar Plus store in west suburban Hanover Park Thursday afternoon, according to published reports.

According to a report on the Chicago Tribune's Web site on Friday, police received a 911 call at 1:45 p.m. from a person saying a woman's body was found near the entrance of the business. The woman, who was identified as 56-year-old Vatisla Thakkar of Hanover Park, was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where she was pronounced dead at 2:21 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

A Hanover Park police dispatcher contacted by the Tribune referred all calls to the department's deputy chief, who she said would release information on Friday.
