Police Warn of Serial Robber on Northwest Side

One man suspected of robbing a Jefferson Park storefront Friday is also the suspect in a string of robberies in the Northwest Side this week.

The man reportedly enters the businesses armed with a knife, takes money from the register and flees, police said in a business alert Saturday.

The series of four robberies all occurred after 4 p.m. in nearby areas:

  • March 3 at about 10 p.m. on the 5300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in the Gladstone Park neighborhood
  • March 7 at about 4:50 p.m. on the 5200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in the Jefferson park neighborhood
  • March 7 at about 5:05 p.m. on the 4900 block of West Irving Park Road in the Portage Park neighborhood
  • March 8 at about 11 p.m. on the 4300 block of North Central Avenue in the Portage Park neighborhood

The alert said the robber was wearing a black jacket or black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gym shoes. He is described as white, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tal, 170-180 pounds with medium complexion.
