Police Warn of Armed Robberies on Southwest Side

Police put out an alert for Chicago Lawn on Saturday after two armed robberies earlier this week.

The most recent robbery occurred on Thursday around 10:30 p.m. on the 7900 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to the alert. The other incident happened on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on the 3100 block of 80th Street, the alert stated.

Police describe the offender as a black man, between 17 and 23, 5-foot-9-inches to 6-foot-2, 150-160 pounds, with dreadlocks.

Police urge residents to always be aware of their surroundings, immediately report suspicious activity, and never to pursue a fleeing assailant but instead provide any information to police.

Anyone who may have information on these robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives, at (312) 747-8382.
