Police Warn of Armed Robberies in Lake View, Lincoln Park

Five robberies were reported in the last week, according to Chicago Police

Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies reported in Lake View and Lincoln Park neighborhoods on the North Side in the past week.

In each incident, one or more suspects approached the victims, showed a handgun and demanded property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred:

  • In the 1200 block of West Waveland at 9:30 p.m. May 16;
  • In the 1300 block of West Henderson at 9:40 p.m. May 16;
  • In the 1200 block of West Oakdale at 11:30 p.m. May 19;
  • In the 2900 block of North Sheffield at 11:40 p.m. May 20;
  • And in the 2400 block of North Seminary at 11:55 p.m. May 20.

The suspect is described as one or more 17-to-25-year-old black males standing between 5-foot-4 and 6 feet tall, weighing 160-175 pounds, police said. At least one suspect wore a gray or dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
