Sketch Released of Man Who Assaulted Boy in Bathroom

The incident took place Saturday at the Great China Buffet located at 2531 W. Cermak Rd.

Police released a composite sketch of a man believed to have sexually assaulted a 7-year-old boy in the restroom of a Chicago restaurant Saturday.

The boy and his family were eating dinner at the Great China Buffet located at 2531 W. Cermak Rd. when the incident happened.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 25 and 40, with light skin and a black mustache. The man is said to have numerous tattoos on both arms, one of which is a knife with two lines underneath and the word “QUE." Another tattoo is reported to be of an animal, possibly a dog.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap and a blue or green long sleeve shirt with rolled up sleeves and speaks Spanish, the alert said.

He fled the scene in a small, green vehicle.

Parents in the area were disturbed to hear about the incident.

"To be honest, I would kill someone if they touched them like that," Paula Jackson said.

Police are warning parents to escort their children to restroom areas while in public places and caution children to be alert for strangers or suspicious vehicles.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call the Special Investigations Unit Detectives at (312) 492-3810.
