Police Search for Naperville ‘Simpsons' Vandal

A graffiti artist with an affection for the television series “The Simpsons” is causing a stir around Naperville as area police are now offering a reward for the mysterious vandal.

Naperville Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 Friday for information leading to the identity of the street artist or artists responsible for several vandalisms across the area.

Police have taken “numerous” reports this month concerning the graffiti, which they said has mainly appeared in the downtown area, “though similar incidents at other locations were reported as well,” Sgt. Lou Cammiso said in a statement.

“The graffiti/damage seems to center around the animated television show ‘The Simpsons’ and has appeared on concrete walls of businesses, electrical boxes and garbage dumpsters,” Cammiso said in the statement. “The art work is extensive and time consuming and the ability to have it removed is very costly.”

Anyone with information on the graffiti writer or writers, or those who witness the defacings, are asked to call Naperville Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006.
